The Focus should not only be the Negative Business of Stopping Foreclosure

It is now high time to change the attitude from negativism to positivism – foreclosures have to be to be stopped but to do so one has to create more jobs and opt for more innovations.
Without the invention of new stuff and services that would increase the productivity, health and happiness for the people in general America will never be able to clear its debts or afford the health care required. These new products would have to be sold to the world to get an edge over others.
A wise president would bring together the leading innovators of the nation and discuss with them what laws and tax incentives would be required to make them active and multiply. This should be Obama’s top priority – to inspire, to empower and to give a kick start to a new America.
Obama has to reignite a youth movement that had yesterday been the prime reason for his success. He should ensure that each American child should be aware of two of his programmes. The first is the National Lab Day. This coalition of educators in the science and engineering streams introduced it last November. Its target is to provide inspiration to hundreds and thousands of innovators of the future with the lead being given by the veterans in the line as well as to students in grades K-12. It would ensure hands-on projects in science right across America.
The chairperson of the NLD, Jack Hidary said that any of the teachers could get in touch with the scheme via the Internet to be coupled with a similar group of instructors and students. Hidary explained, “As soon as you have a match, the scientists and the students communicate directly or via Skype and collaborate on a project. We have a class in Chicago asking for civil engineers to teach them how to build a bridge. In Idaho, a class is asking for a scientist to help them build a working river delta inside their classroom.”
The second programme is Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Its target is to make its presence felt in low-income localities of USA. It operates in tandem with the teachers of middle and high school to assist them in teaching entrepreneurship. The main attraction of this plan is a national contest with the participation of 24,000 children. Each has to invent either a product or a service, write down a plan for business and then put it into practice. Low income localities mean most of those participating would be minority youngsters.
